Travel To China, H1N1 – Info for your China vacations

Sunday, July 19th, 2009
Shane Lee asked:

This article is about the H1N1 and China travel. You can find some useful information in it if you are planning your China vacations now.

The A(H1N1) quarantine policy (from several big Chinese web sites) in China:

1. If you don’t have a fever when getting off the plane in the airports of China, you don’t need to worry about quarantine policy of China at all. If you do have a fever, you will need to do a medical examination in the city where you enter China. This is to make sure that you don’t get the A(H1N1) flu.( more info about “Travel To China, H1N1,China vacations” at Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM )

2. If there is some people having a fever in your plane to China and your seat is very close to him/her (less than 3 meters away), you will need to do the medical examination in the hospital when this people is confirmed as a A(H1N1) flu patient. The Chinese Malaria Control Center will contact you when they find some confirmed A(H1N1) cases in the plane you take. If you sit far away from the A(H1N1) patient (more than 3 meters away) in the plane, you don’t need to worry about this issue at all. No one is going to ask you to do a medical examination even when there is some confirmed A(H1N1) cases in your plane to China.

3. Some people did the quarantine for a week in Beijing and Jiangshu when they got to China. They only did this voluntarily. One one is going to ask you to do this. But in my point of view, this can be good both for your family and your friends. You don’t wanna your close people to be threatened by the A(H1N1) flu too, right? ( more info about “Travel To China, H1N1,China vacations” at Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM )

Some personal experience when people arrived at the airports of Beijing,Shanghai or Hongkong:

1. My parents traveled to China last Monday. All they got in the Beijing Capital Airport is to go through a Temperature Monitoring Device. That’s it. When they stayed in the hotel, the Malaria Control Center didn’t contact them. Now there are more than 200 A(H1N1) cases in China and the Chinese people don’t pay so much attention to this flu as they used to be. (I think it is very natural for the Chinese people to be very nervous about this A(H1N1) flu. The SARS was such a disaster here in the year of 2003. )

2. I flied to China last week and I am in China now. I am not very familar with the A(H1N1) quarantine policy in China. I will only talk about my personal experience here. I entered China in the Shanghai Pudong Airport. In the plane, the airhostesses helped us to do the body temperature check once. When we arrived at Shanghai, some “astronauts” checked our body temperature again. When I left the U.S., my body temperature was about 37 Centigrade. (because I was sleeping poorly these days) But they didn’t find me out. Maybe I was not having a fever when they checked my body temperature in the airport. I then transfered to another plane. No one contacted me about the A(H1N1) flu issue any more. I can do whatever I like in China. By the way, I left my address in China and phone number in the Shanghai Pudong Airport of course.

3. I visited Hong Kong last week. All I did is to fill out some forms. No body temperature check at all. When I arrived at Shenzhen, some people asked me to go through the Temperature Monitoring Device and fill out some other forms. ( more info about “Travel To China, H1N1,China vacations” at Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM )

By 06/13/2009, there are 293 A(H1N1) flu cases in China. ( Beijing: 38, Guangdong: 37, Fujian: 25, Shanghai: 17, Sicuan: 15, Hubei: 9, Zhejiang: 6, Tianjin: 4, Shandong: 3, Hunan: 2, Henan: 1, Jiangsu: 1, Shanxi: 1, Liaoning: 1, Guizhou: 1, Jiangxi: 1, Hainan: 3, Hongkong: 84, Taiwan: 44 )

Ellen McNulty asked:

Anyone who has traveled in the USA with children knows how hard it can be to research the area, plan interesting activities for the kids, and at the same time, relax and enjoy your vacation, too. But when you plan your family vacation with a travel professional to plan your overseas trip, it can be worry-free.

Traveling with a family requires a different type of vacation, and traveling overseas has its own challenges – passports, time changes, disrupted sleep schedules and more. .England, and all of Great Britain come to mind as stress-free family vacation destinations.

Are you or your children history buffs, Harry Potter fans, or just interested in travel? We arrange everything for your family travel packages to England, Scotland and Wales, so there is nothing for you to do but enjoy yourself.

Here are just some suggestions for your family travel packages to Great Britain:

When you’d like to be on your own, an a small house on an estate or castle grounds, or in a holiday vacation village of 8-10 identical cottages with other vacationers from around the world. Is your family spread out all over the world, so this can be a once in a lifetime opportunity to get everyone together. A Definition of an Adventure Tour

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009
Cynthia Andrews asked:

Many people dream of having amazing adventures like one might see in the movies. Other vacationers decide to vacation at the same unadventurous location. If you are looking for a change from the ordinary and want to bring some real adventure into your life, you might want to consider taking an adventure tour for your next vacation. An adventure tour can be made up of a number of different components, but the end result is that you get to explore the best that the world has to offer in a hands-on way. Keep in mind that adventure tours are not for everyone; read these examples of common adventure tour components to see if one is right for you and your family.

Most adventure tours involve hiking at one point or another, generally in conjunction with camping. Some of the hikes may be relatively short, serving as a down-to-earth method of transportation between larger components of the tour. Other hikes can be quite long, comprising a major part of the tour’s attraction. Many of the longer hikes have basic recommendations for your fitness level or they may ill require that you have a certain amount of hiking experience before you take them simply because the distances would be difficult for an out of shape individual to cover safely and in time with the rest of the group.

White water rafting is a common component of an adventure tour. Tours exist that take you on all grades of rivers, though the higher grades usually require a certain amount of rafting experience, which helps prevent you from being a danger to yourself and others. Some tours may even take you across different grades on different days, letting you build up experience over the course of the tour, allowing you to be ready for larger rapids later. Most rafting tours involve camping and may include hikes in between river sections as well.

Although not as common as rafting, a number of tours include a kayaking component as well. A number of these tours are featured in Alaska, where kayaking has somewhat of a cultural component; Alaskan kayak tours are often done in the open ocean. Kayaking is generally not the largest component of the tour, though dedicated kayaking tours do exist.

Another element that is incorporated into a number of adventure tours is rock climbing or rappelling. There is a larger element of danger involved with rock climbing than with a standard hiking tour, but the sense of accomplishment and adventure is well worth it. Many adventure tours that feature rock climbing or rappelling are centered in mountainous regions where climbing may be the primary focus of the tour. There are some hiking tours, which feature rock climbing as just a single component of the tour.

Other extreme sports may also be featured in adventure tours, though they are not as common as the elements that have already be mentioned. Some adventure tours incorporate bungee jumping, cliff diving, hang gliding, and similar activities in addition to hiking and more common components. Finding these tours may be a bit more difficult than finding a basic hiking tour, but if you are looking for a major thrill, these tours can definitely provide that extra sense of excitement.

It should be noted that not all adventure tours are wilderness based; many adventure tour companies have packages, which allow you to experience the adventures of modern life. Tours can go to cities like Las Vegas and San Francisco are relatively common, and some of them even manage to mix city entertainment components with wilderness adventure in the outlying natural parks as well. Other tours are based out of an RV, which you take from one location to the next for each daily event. Some adventure tours contain components such as paintball or other team competitions as well. These are all exciting activities, which are excellent if you are looking to escape from the traditional trip to the beach. Although these may not be as relaxing as the beach, they sure provide excitement and a new thrill to your life.

Regardless of which type of adventure tour you choose, you can expect to have a great time while on the tour. Many adventure tours consist of hiking and camping, but they may also have secondary components such as kayaking and rock climbing. If these are not what you are looking for, there are adventure tours that include extreme sports such as bungee jumping, cliff diving or hang-gliding. The length of the tours can vary from 2-3 days to up to 2 weeks or more, so you should be able to find a tour that meets your exact requirements. If you are looking for a non-traditional vacation, it is highly recommended to try an adventure vacation because it provides an experience that should last a lifetime.

Global Ecovillage Network – Cyprus

Erkan Kilim asked:

Tourism has the major share and it is one of those sectors deteriorating the natural inheritance through unpremeditated and unconscious investments. Actually, nowadays radical changes can be observed in tourism models. We witness such interesting results of the so-called environmentalist investments that we it is really hard to understand.

They are doing away with the natural flora living in its own nature and trying to replace it with inharmonious fauna that cannot pursue its entity in that artificial nature. It is possible to see such changes in our country and they call it development. It is really not possible to understand why the officials give permissions to such investments although they know well how scarce the natural wealth and the natural sources in our country. One shouldn’t have to be so wise in order to understand that the exterminating nature would mean exterminating future. The reason why the eco-tourism movement is growing fast all over the world is; turning such natural extermination investments into more profitable ones and achieving more sustainable life and tourism in a balanced nature. Those rapidly changing countries which are taking steps in that direction have greater profits.

Eco tourism and agro-tourism models are both on the way to be the most expensive tourism models in the world. Serious steps are being taken in various countries with the help of international organizations, our country is one of them. The first step is being taken through pensioning investment primarily in Karpas Peninsula and four other villages. These pensioning investments and launched international relationships are going in parallel directions. GEN (Global Ecovillage Network in Europe)meetings were held in ?taly on 7-12 July 2007 and we participated it with Ismail Cemal, Buyukkonuk Delcraft Director and Ecovillage committee charman, and Gulay Bostanc?, Secretary of Buyukkonuk Municipality.

The Gen meetings are being held in different countries every year. This year it was held in Italy’s Goriano Vali village, in Convento San Giorgio Monastery. Last year the meeting was held in Denmark’s Swonholm town with the participation of 28 countries, on 7-12 July. The GEN Organisation is an international organization named Global Ecovillage Network and its mission is; creating a sustainable future, working on alternative energy, clear environment, and organic agriculture. Other objectives are;

a)Local and economic development,

b)Integrated social economies based on cooperation,

c)Creating communities living together in harmony,

d)Participation in decision making,

e)Conflict resolutions in peaceful ways,

f)Holistic ‘humanitarian’ education,

g)Local organic food production,

h)Putting into practice the permacultural projects,

?)Ecologic architecture

j)Consumable energy systems,

k)Activities on waste system

the aim of this movement is creating ecovillages with sustainable touristic interest as well. The ecovillages are consist of conscious, like-minded people came together for a definite aim, to create a new and inspiring future. They have two important features. The first one is the belief that life consists of small, healthy communities and of the support among people living in them. The second one is, a sustainable life lies in the recreation of the traditional communal lifestyle. These are the most inspiring movements of the ecovillages through their history.North Cyprus had very positive results with their ecovillages and ecotourism policies at the GEN meetings they joined in Denmakr in 2006, and this year in Italy. With the support of the Economy and Tourism Ministry, TRNC was represented at those meetings and discussed with its other sides. The meetings and discussed with its other sides.Northern Cyprus Hotels The meetings were participated from 28 various countries and 90 representatives and during that time we had the opportunity to tell the world about our movements of ecotourism. We had a joint presentation with Ismail Cemal, the Buyukkonuk Delcraft Director and ecovillage committee chairman, supported with visual scenes telling about the activities and investments concerning ecovillages and ecotourism by the Ministry of Economy and Tourism. During the presentation, detailed information was given about how the new buildings in Dipkarpas, Kumyali nd Buyukkonuk were in perfect harmony with the environment and natural beauty. The presentation also included ecotourism-environment-nature sensitiveness and cultural life of the TRNC. The interest was intense.Last year we presented our projects to the audience and this year’s presentation was the proof of our activities. Good relations with the Council Members of GEN were established and they were invited to visit the North Cyprus. They attached great importance to the due ecotourism trainings in the framework of Karpas Ecotourism and pensioning activities. Activities on turning the old Buyukkonuk oil mill into a museum were also presented visually.
