We are going to Vegas the weekend of the 22nd we will have 2 days where we don’t have anything scheduled and are thinking about taking a day tour those 2 days. One we looked at is Grand Canyon and Momument Valley but have’nt decided about what to do the 2nd day, thinking either Yosimite or a 6 hour ATV adventure but would like to hear some alternatives, would like to spend less than 500 bucks per person for the tours, so any suggestions?

Do the lake mead dinner cruise. Not only do you cruise on the most beautiful lake ever, (doesn’t even look like a lake, it’s HUGE…seems like an ocean!) but they serve you a really delicious steak, chicken, or fish dinner aboard the ship. It sails near sunset, and it’s absolutely breathtaking. You need to do the lake mead dinner cruise!!!! Oh, and on the way back, you get to see the grand canyon for free!!!!! The company is called showtime tours.

OK, from personal experience I will never go to Yosemite again during peak season…. there is no parking, it is extremely congested, and it is very hard to find a bathroom! With that said, I lived in Las Vegas for the better part of my life, and any trip to Utah is definately worth the drive! OK I know the North Rim of the Grand Canyon is ‘technically’ l in Arizona, but it really belongs in Utah! :) In other words, I would tour the North Rim of the Grand Canyon over the South Rim. If you spend one day touring the North Rim, then there are SOO many other options for your spare time… Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park etc. Either one of these parks could easily soak up one of your free days. You might also look into going to Lake Powell. I am not really 100 percent sure about this but the level of Lake Powell is at the lowest it has been in decades, and because of that it has opened many areas of new discovery. I am not really sure if the level has increased or what?? But I would definately look into it.

So in summary, go to UTAH! SPEND BOTH OF YOUR DAYS THERE…. Do the Grand Canyon and after that maybe hike The Narrows in Zion National Park. It is an amphibious hike!

There is NO WAY you are going to do the Grand Canyon and Yosemite in 2 days. I would stick with the UTAH PLAN and spend your two days there.
